MTN Home Internet is terrible

My mother got the MTN Home router paying R429 monthly. Recently it’s not working, just too slow and cannot do anything with the network. Even viewing WhatsApp statuses is a pain. It’s not usable at all. I went to the MTN store in Thohoyandou thavhani mall to find out what the problem is but also the consultant look like they don’t even know what they are doing. The package we use has a fair use policy of 300GB which is in the case impossible to reach since my mother is the only person using the internet 95% of the time. She cannot even finish 60GB by herself. We checked the data usage and it was not even close to the 300GB cap before they decrease the speeds from 20Mpbs to 2Mbps. When I speed test the internet the speed it achieves now is 0.14Mbps or so. It’s useless and I wouldn’t recommend anyone buy this. This problem stated on the 23rd of this month (December) and it’s been like this until now. It’s a problem when you are paying for such nonsense of a service. Had to spend R400 to buy prepaid data because of this trash home internet. Not even sure if it’s going to get fixed because even when you call MTN directly on the number *** which is where you are supposed to get help, they tell you sh*t. They even have the decency to claim you are over your limit while you are very far away from that. I would recommend you stay away from this product. I had two other friends with me who had the same problem. It might be their towers but all they tell you is that you’ve exceeded your limit while your are far away from that.
