MTN have zero regard for customers!!!!

Unfortunately my saga with MTN seems to have no end.

I called to confirm that my contract had been cancelled only to be asked to send the proof of payment. (A payment I made at an MTN store, surely they had a record of it???) It then turns out that MTN owe me R6734.80 according to the call centre operator. I sent the proof of payment as requested and was told the refund would be deposited in my account within 24-48 hours.

Well, it's a week later and no funds have been transferred. To make things worse I cannot get through to the customer care centre as my number has been ported to another provider and the system will not accept it anymore. I also tried calling 083 173 which is inactive today????

Emails are not answered either.

Last effort was to submit a complaint online - received a message that my query would be handled within 5 days.

SERIOUSLY MTN!?!?!?!?!

Latest ref #: **********

Dear Valued Customer,

Thank you for taking time to raise your concerns with MTN.

kindly be advised that the amount of R6,734.80 is for early termination charges there is no credit due and we apologise for the incorrect information disciplinary measures will be exercised.

Reviewer Update

Hi Mike,

I recieved a cancelation quotation to the value of R6780.83 on the 28/11 and settled this amount in full on the 29/11.

I was then informed on the 13th December that there was a owing to me. I am requesting a full statement on this account.

Just to put my frustration in perspective..... I have been a customer of MTN's for 20 years. Since my descision in August to move to another network, I have only been contacted by the retentions team after leaving reveiws on hellopeter. The service has been diabolical, with me being pushed from pillar to post.

MTN you seriously need to have a good look at your organisation!
