Mtn has become just as ********* as the rest.
The entire ordeal started about 4 years ago when I went for an upgrade. The updrade deal on my contract was a device and a data and airtime package. I was introduced to a package with 10gb data and 100min for just R99. I then decided to take this offer and link it to a device only upgrade. This was awesome as it worked very well for my needs. The problem came in when the package was upgraded, it declined my device upgrade and I was told I can only apply for something cheaper than what I currently have. We tried it several times as my previous contract amount was R960 P/m. Long story short, I eventually had to give up the devise and only get the package on my old phone. I continued with this for 3 years and then decided to upgrade again. This time I wanted to keep my package as is but just upgrade the device. This went through and all was well, for 2 weeks. I recieved a phone call to inform me that the package I am on will fall away and become redundant. However the lady informed me that she has an exact copy of the same deal just under a different name. I then agreed, and clearly stated on the call, if it is not the same, she will have to grant me my old package again. Since this, I have been receiving 2gb of data and 100 Min. I have been to several mtn shops to try and rectify this, made calls to mtn, but being chased from pillar to post but nothing. I have been a loyal customer of MTN for over 2 decades, but this is how you are treated. I am not asking for more than I had, all I want is to give me what I agreed upon. Please can someone explain to me why all these big companies that owns a portion of the monopoly, always become ********* and dishonest. I left Vodacom and Telkom for the same reason and came to mtn. I think it's time I move on.
