MTN hand over

I have been receiving emails from a company stating that I owe MTN. However, my contract ended years ago and I eventually cancelled it. It's disappointing and frustrating as I have never owed to any company. Why should I pay for something that is not even valid!? I had the contract with their branch in Tongaat in which the staff had been conducting ***** as well.
