MTN - Great network if you do not want to receive important calls

I am on alarm callout on a regular basis, whereas the alarm is activated and the first step in that the security company calls you.

However.... I now cannot receive landline numbers, presumably Telkom ones.... when you dial my number it says "number does not exist". After numerous calls to the callcentre over the past month, where everything is "escalated" to be resolved in 24hrs (this is to ensure you get the pleasure of phoning the next morning), it STILL does not work. I went to the MTN branch in George who tested it using a Telkom landline (her promise), it still did not work. (Sunshine, that's not a Telkom phone, you had my phone in your hand... the number was 08302, that's why it "worked").

Yesterday was promised a technician would call......

Today was finally given the very special number to actually speak to someone in the technical department - ***. Well played, that does not exist, it tells you to phone call centre.

Either... A) The fault can not be fixed, in which case I can throw this SIM away and get another network, or B) You are able to diagnose and fix fault.

Can MTN just man up now and let me know without all the useless excuses and promises. I actually pity your callcentre staff, they try so hard and it must be demeaning to work for a company whose support team and senior staff do not hold themselves accountable.
