MTN gave me an ACTIVE "New" number!

I finally got my Girlfriend to switch from Telkom to MTN this week, got a great deal on the Huawei P40 Lite 5G and Watch. I then put the contract on my name and paid for a "NEW" number. Little do I know and I was not told this would be a recycled number? ***? Now my girlfriend is upset because she is receiving calls from overseas and people hassling her for no reason! I went back to a MTN store and the can't do anything apparently. Now we cant even transfer her old number because its active??? Bull, this is pathetic, a new number which cost R115 my ass. This needs to be rectified and I want either a actual new number or the old number transferred. MTN gave us an active number that is linked to an Indian fellow, whose friends or colleagues cant even speak English and wont stop calling. Please contact me , I need this sorted NOW.
