MTN Gamer Subscription

I see from numerous other reviews that I am not the first victim of this subscription not subscribed for and I will undoubtedly not be the last. MTN Gamer subscription loaded on my data account without my knowledge or consent. I do not even know what that is. Talking to MTN their reply is they cannot cancel it. Looking at the replies from MTN on Hello Peter, this seems to be a lie since they have done it for other customers.

Cancelling it by sending an SMS can almost be viewed as acknowledgement of subscribing in the first place. If I would have to reply via SMS to every SMS I receive stating it is required to unsubscribe I would be sending numerous SMS’s daily and would most certainly be ****med even further.

And cancelling it is not enough. What about the funds already deducted? Will this be reimbursed?

Based on the service I received from MTN and the unwarranted funds which they so faithfully deduct via debit order every month, I have instructed them to cancel my internet account and would not recommend them to other people. Not even threatening to stop the debit order had any effect... MTN boldly rep**** we will just blacklist you. I would still like to receive back the money which they deducted without my consent though.

Stating “it is not our intention to displease you” does not solve the problems and concerns of customers. Rather do something concrete about it.

The absolute lack of action from MTN is appalling. The latest deduction by MTN from my account is even higher!! This after I have contacted MTN to fix this problem. This after I reluctantly sent an “Opt Out” SMS to the service for which I never opted in for to start with. This after you said this matter was escalated to your marketing division, who by the way I am still waiting to hear from.
What more action should be expected by the reasonable man to get this sorted out? Are MTN purposely taking illicit money from their clients, or is it just a lack of competent personnel resulting in this happening? If there is a third possibility, please let me know, but in my experience it usually is one or the other.
Considering that only a fraction of people who are done it actually complains, while a vast number may not even pick up that they are being hoodwinked, how many thousands of people are negatively influenced by MTN? Would it not then be conceivable to believe that MTN is preying on the ignorance of many of his customers?
I conclude with the words of one of our very well known politicians: “Pay back the money!!!”
