MTN ********** activities

Hi there, My experience today has been absolutely shocking and appalling. I had been requested to bring my phone in at the store, with the view of giving me what I had signed for. To my surprise, MTN had planned to use this as an interrogation session – the consultant intentionally caused a scene arguing about this. I honestly do not understand how difficult can it be for a reputable company like MTN to honour their agreement. To start with, your consultant still emphasizes that the only difference between the iPhone 8 and iPhone plus is the size – this is incorrect and absolutely disappointing that your consultants have no product knowledge whatsoever and still wanted to argue this even today (Well, I have done my homework and know for a fact that there is a huge difference between these two devices). Secondly, this lead to him making me sign a contradictory agreement with conflicting information – which he still refuses to take ownership and accountability for. Thirdly, I was denied the opportunity to exercise the cooling-off period right – as I even called them within a week of signing the agreement that I have been given what I didnt want. Moreover, despite my attempts to escalate this, there is just endless back and forth with no solution to the problem. I had been told that a solution had been reached, Sandra and Jabulani had given me feedback as follows, I quote: From Jabulani Good morning Mama Masongoa Please bring the device to the store, I think to book in the device for warranty assessment then once it’s been approved then you will take the Iphone 8 plus. The will be an amount to be paid though, but hence I am reliable for it I will have to pay for it. From Sandra “Good day, If you bring the phone for warranty assessment like as Jabu indicated, exchange will not be done on Saturday we will have to wait for our repair center to approve it. He agreed to pay the difference then there won’t be any additional charges that you need to pay. Also, your monthly subscription will not be affected” As expected, when I got to the store an argument arose and the consultant refused to take the device – they still displayed the same behaviour and chose not to live up to their word, I am currently on chemo and have been told to avoid having to deal with distressing situations like this, and had therefore asked my daughter to accompany me as I could foresee the store trying to mislead me again as they did the first time. Your consultant was supposed to do what was necessary but then decided to cause a scene instead today when we walked in - clearly their manager allows them to treat customers like this because the was no intervention from any superior. I have exhausted all my options to try to resolve this amicably and request kindly that you cancel my contract with MTN and make arrangements to collect this device as the consultant refused to accept it.
