MTN ***** – a month later no action
On 16 November our company contract with MTN was **********ly upgraded. Instead of R166.00 per month, we now have to pay R7500.00. The ***** must have been quite obvious to the MTN employer who upgraded it. The person who signed the contract supp**** an ID purporting to be mine, which had the right photo but the wrong ID number and a company letterhead which bears no resemblance to ours and which had made up contact details on it; the upgrade took place at Sandton, whereas our company is in KZN. The person who signed the contract signed it as ‘an IT technician’, elsewhere he describes himself as ‘the driver’ and he also signed the ********** company letter with the same signature! All of this seems to have been acceptable to the MTN employee who then gave him two top of the range cell phones and let him walk out of the shop. I have supp**** MTN with all the information that they have asked for, including a police affidavit. I have asked MTN to close down the cell phone lines and to lockdown the cell phones **********ly acquired. I have had to change cell phone numbers with my bank (not an easy process), notify my clients and all my other contacts and spend time with the police. I have phoned the customer care centre dozens of times and emailed various departments at MTN dozens of times. It is impossible to telephone the MTN ***** department and they do not answer emails. I have now opened a case of ***** with the police.
