MTN *****
I have been a loyal MTN customer for over 10 years and I'm very disappointed with how I've been treated the past week. On Wednesday 12 May someone posing as an MTN customer care agent phoned me stating that the person who previously owned my number wants it back and to prevent this I have to give them an OTP which I did. After I provided the OTP my limit was increased from R0 to R15 000 and data and voice minutes were purchased on my account and data shared to unknown numbers. I immediately called MTN customer care after which the first consultant told me I was ****med apparently this happens to their customers a lot. She unlinked the unknown numbers from my Data share and told me that I will have to pay the R15 000 or call their ***** department. When calling the ***** department they told me I called the wrong department and must call customer care back. I phoned customer care again and was told by a second consultant to email my ID copy, an affidavit and screenshots to *** which I did on Thursday 13 May. I didn't receive an acknowledgement of receipt or a reply since then. I have emailed the consultant I spoke to and he has also not responded to me. I have no idea if they received my email and how they can rectify the matter. The lack of support I'm receiving is causing me severe anxiety because I can't afford to pay R15 000 and am a victim of crime.
