MTN *****
On Saturday 29 January 2022 I have lodged an ***** case with MTN after receiving a call informing that someone was doing a sim swop on my account. I told the person that I have not requested the sim swop and that they must ensure that this does not happen he requested requested an OTP to enable him to stop the transaction. I immediately went to the MTN app on the phone and also cancel the request and made the monthly allowance for purchase a 0. The MTN ***** department suggested that I lodged a case at the police station and that I forward an avidavid with a certified copy of my ID to the ***** department. That was all done and I still received an account for R18 0000 I reversed the payment and my services were suspended. When visiting the MTN shop to ascertain what I can do to prevent further transactions on my account I was also requested to supply the OTP number to the staff member to allocate my online profile. I have no received any feedback from MTN ***** department to date. This also happen to a friend of mine and he also have not received any feedback from MTN. I do not have R18 000 to pay MTN for something that I have not used or requested and the least they could do is to give feedback on the investigation that they have launched. I will pay my monthly usage to MTN as I have been doing for the past 27 years and somehow MNT must have a form of record keeping and not allow for excessive amounts to go off a debit order.
