MTN Fault Tower

My community Rondebult has been having an issue with an MTN Tower that has been offline for more than two week. This means over 500 + have no access to Voice/Data even Vodacom Fiber that is using MTN infrastructure it’s offline. I have logged numerous calls with the following reference number ref # SMC/*** Tower Site No 1542. We were informed by the service provider that they were waiting for MTN to sign off for the Job to be done. The Tower was vandalized the temporary solution they had was to bringing a mobile generator . However that doesn’t happen every day and for people that are running their own business we are unable to do so. Sometimes those Engineers come after 12 midday to plug in the generator meaning one would start to work after 12 only . On other days they don’t come at all residents were even contemplating canceling their fiber contracts with Vodacom service provider thinking that the issue is on their network . Whilst the problem is on the MTN infrastructure this has been a very frustrating and tedious experience for the community . MTN has made our life’s a rather experience a very bad one . The below communication was from MTN Two weeks later we are still without Network Yello Lerato , Kindly be advised that the tower is down in the area due to vandalism with ref # SMC/***.Engineers are assigned to work on restoring the site.We apologize for inconvenience caused.
