MTN false offers

<p>My cellphone upgrade fell due in August 2016, so looking through the MTN catalogue I became interested in the iPhone 6, 16GB offer they had; which was R339 p.m. for 24 months including 500MB of data p.m.</p> <p> </p> <p>I went to several stores asking for this particular phone and no one seemed to have stock. So I began one Saturday morning phoning Gauteng MTN stores in seek of this offer, majority of the numbers listed on their website are invalid and those that do work never answer.</p> <p> </p> <p>Finally, I got a hold of a store in Gauteng and I was told the reason this phone is on such a good offer is because it is an old model and they are no longer going to stock it in South Africa.</p> <p> </p> <p>I made peace with the fact that I will not be able to have an iPhone 6, but this month I picked up MTN’s September catalogue, and what do they have there? An iPhone 6 up for offer but for now R449 p.m. (R110 more than last month) which includes only 300MB of data compared to the previous month’s offer of 500MB.</p> <p> </p> <p>How can MTN offer a phone that they claim to no longer have stock of?</p>
