MTN fails to deliver on more than 1 promise

I visited MTN Killarney on 26 Apr for a contract upgrade, but couldn't find a suitable deal. I was assisted by Khanyisile (who was consistently pleasant and helpful). The next day Khanyisile & I had a phone conversation & she'd found a deal for 5Gb data & 200 min (R329 monthly), which I happily accepted.

I checked my balance a few days later these new balances didn't reflect. I called Khanyisile & she said she would load my contract closer to the cycle date (17th) to reduce the pro-rata charges, which I appreciate. But on 16 May I received an SMS saying I was now being charged on a month-to-month basis.

This appeared to be corrected on 17 May as I received an SMS saying I been credited with 200 min, 150 SMS, & 3Gb (please note I'd been told it would be 5Gb not 3Gb). Bizarrely I received a 2nd SMS the same day saying I'd been credited with my previous contract balances (data = 1.5Gb). By 19 May data had mysteriously reduced to half, and then it disappeared completely (has always lasted the full month throughout my contract).

I called Khanyisile and was told there was an error putting through my contract, and her supervisor suggested I call Retentions, which I did. Emilio assisted me on 23 May, and assured me he was able to load the contract. However 48hrs later the contract had not been activated.

Today I called and after telling the whole story to an agent she just transferred me to Emilio. He gave me a non-sensical answer that it the contract didn’t go through because the cycle date was the 17th! When I asked to speak to a team leader Emilio said they were all busy and he would put me through to another agent. I said I didn't want to speak to yet another agent but he put me through to another agent anyway (now the third agent I spoke to, who asked me yet again to repeat the story). By now I'd been on the call for 36 minutes, and then the call was dropped! Frustrating beyond words. (p.s. I saw several missed calls afterwards so I know an agent tried to call back, but I had already told Emilio that after receiving numerous spam from MTN their calls are now blocked). I simply didn’t have the energy to call the call centre again.

So now it’s a whole month later and not only has nothing been resolved but I’m worse off with MTN than when this fiasco started.
