MTN Fails Again Miserably

I was contacted by a Tele Marketing lady wanting to sell me a WiFi router. I told her that I have fibre and don't need a WiFi unit. She told me that the unit has a battery back-up which means that I would still have network even during load shedding, which was a blatant lie as the unit doesn't have a battery back-up. She also told me that I could use the unit anywhere which was also a blatant lie as it is a "fixed line" router. She also told me that I could cancel the contract at anytime with a cancellation fee of around R100. I called MTN to cancel the contract when I realised all the lies I've been fed. After they gave me the run-around I finally managed to get a hold of the Tele Marketing company who is responsible for the cancellation. They informed me that the contract would be cancelled as soon as the device was collected. The device was collected on 04 Aug '22, but the contract still hasn't been cancelled. I'm now going to approach Consumer Protection. It is quite evident from all the reviews on the Hello Peter website that MTN is one of the worst service providers in South Africa. Maybe someone can assist me in getting my contract cancelled and my money back that they owe me.
