MTN Fails Again
I cannot believe how useless MTN is. Every time I upgrade my contract with them, I seem to have problems for a month or two with them until they get tired of fighting with me and give me what I am paying for.
Most recently I upgraded to a Business Sim only Contract which costs R129pm after having it recommended to me by an agent at the Liberty Midlands Mall. It is supposed to give me 100 Anytime Minutes and a 1.5 Gig Data Bundle per month (sms package included too...but seriously guys, no one cares about that any more!). When I check the stats on what I have left, I have over 300 Anytime Minutes which I can use (leftover from my previous contract). I have had contracts with MTN for the past 5 years and have never had an automated voice service tell that I "Have insufficient Airtime to make a call, please load airtime" when I still had minutes leftover.
I have complained twice now in the past 2 days about this problem, I've explained that I am not calling "Premium Rated" numbers nor International numbers which require airtime, but I'm trying to call clients, neighbours and my family members (who are all local and within South Africa!). I even tried to call our local SAPS and my Magma Security company this afternoon regarding a potential security issue and you know what...I got nothing except 'Please load airtime"! So please, MTN, do me a favour and tell me is calling the police in a potential emergency situation a "Premium Rated Service"??? I could have been calling for help on my farm, a gang of armed ****s could have been coming to ****** me and my family yet your service, which I am obligated now to pay for the next 24 months as I signed the contract, told me to "Load Airtime"!!! This is pathetic, and I am getting EXTREMELY frustrated.
Your tech support have not helped me with my problem, and they seem to enjoy emailing me in a condescending manner telling me to not call "Premium Rated Services" which cost more for their services they provide...I AM NOT AN ******** *****! Stop telling me the same **** all the time and sort out my problem!
I have already taken the next step now to try to solve this issue, don't force me to start contacting ICASA to start reporting to them about your failure to provide me as a loyal MTN client of many years (even after all the **** I have had to put up with!), with a decent and reliable service which I am paying for. If I want to call someone, I should be able to pick up my phone and call - and use the minutes that have been allocated to me.
I am REALLY looking forward to hearing something positive soon.
Extremely Annoyed MTN Customer Mr Ashley *****es
