MTN failing grieving widow.
My father passed away on 2 April 2021. After his passing I went to the MTN store at the Irene Village in June to cancel the contracts in his name for him and my mother. I handed in all the paperwork and they assured me that everything was sorted out and that the contract was cancelled and that my mother's number will be switched to a business contract for which we completed all the necessary forms. Two months later my mother's phone got cut off because of nonpayment of the account. When I enquired I was informed that the contract was never cancelled and that it was never possible to switch the number to a business contract in the first place. We had to pay R5000 to get her re-connected and had to start a brand new process. This process was started in September 2021 and the devices was handed in as they requested to get the contracts cancelled. Up to today the issue has not been resolved and even after paying a further R6000 my mother still has does not have access to the number that she had for the last 21 years. My mother dependent on that number that has been used by all her contacts of the last 21 years. She is a widow with limited money and this number that is now according to MTN not available on the MTN network is one of the few things she has left. We have exhausted all avenues and literally do not know what to do anymore. My mother has been completely cut off from the world and her community projects. Can anyone just help to sort this out!!
