MTN - Failed Transfer (MTN clients are better off with another provider)

I have been dealing with MTN for over 9 months with regards to moving my MTN number from my personal account to a business account and to date this is not yet completed.

Mon, 17 Feb, 10:40 - Email was sent In that email I requested 2 numbers to be migrated from my personal to a business account,

In March the one number was migrated, however the other number was not, and the number that was not moved did not appear on my account

Thu, 25 Jun, 15:22 - Email was sent In this email it was explained that it seemed that only one of the requested numbers was transferred and we were still awaiting feedback as to why it was not moved.

Thu, 2 Jul, 10:58 - Email was received from MTN saying they can't move the number because the number on the account had money owing.

Now I don't know if this is hard to follow or If this is rocket science but if MTN were responsible for the failed transfer, how can I be billed for the service when I can not make calls or use the service. So I must pay for service for the months I was not getting service? BUT for the sake of progress lets just continue

Putting everything aside I contacted legal for them to release my number and in that email I attached proof of payments for “outstanding funds” and requested a statement to see what was owing as I had not received anything in that email I explained this whole long story.

3 Days later I get an email with the statement showing that more monies are owing and the only reason there are monies owing is because MTN FAILED to load one of the payments on my account. In actual fact I am now in CREDIT with MTN, now again I don't know if this is rocket science BUT, I did attach the proof of payments to this email, why were they not reconciled against the statement that was sent back three days later!

I then responded saying this is ridiculous I am in credit I need this service to be reactivated, and if MTN could please do so immediately, and this is the response I get:

Kindly note the proof of payment has been forwarded to the banking department for allocation, please allow 7 to 14 working days. Trouble Ticket#: *** Kind regards

7-14 Days? WHAT THE HELL! Do MTN actually need to find a person to employ to sort this out? I mean really how hard can this be.

You would think the story ends here, but no..... just for a little further insight, I tried to migrate the account previously from Jan 2018 - Jan 2019, but after a year of trying I simply just gave up.

My advice to anyone looking to migrate their number to a business account who are with MTN

Phone Cell C Pone Vodacom Phone Telkom (yes I even recommend telkom above MTN) Phone Anyone OTHER than MTN!

To date I have not had one person from MTN apologize for the inconvenience caused, I have wasted countless hours sorting this out, and have not had a working phone for 9 months!.

My expectation is this will not be sorted, no one will contact me, because clearly this problem is way too much for MTN to deal with…. The simple migration of a number from a personal to business account

P.S Hellopeter I wish I could have selected no star as a rating.
