MTN ERECTS "TREE" TOWER NEXT TO PRIMARY SCHOOL WITH NO CONSULTATION
MTN has recently erected a cellular "tree" tower on Bowling Rd in Woodmead ext. The cell phone tower borders a residential complex and is situated across the road from a primary school! There has been no prior notification or consultation with the residents who have concerns about health implications and property values. Is MTN allowed to simply erect a potential health hazard without any approval from neighbours?

10 Jan 2018, 15:39The procedure that was followed was that MTN approached the Johannesburg Country Club to erect the cell phone tower as they own the property. The club gets a rental fee for this. Again, I reiterate our concern: the immediate neighbours who have to suffer the effects of having this cell phone tower in such close proximity were never consulted!
