MTN - DONT CARE ATTITUDE TO CUSTOMERS!!!!

Dear MTN,

You have shown your true colours. I am one of those that took the 50gb promo in 2016 and was waiting with bated breath to see how MTN was going to treat their clients and I must say, you took disappointment to a new level. You have put your customers between a rock and a hard place as we either choose your data deals or voice deals. No, its not like you haven’t given us a choice of voice and data but lets look at that. I am being offered 52gb and 300mins for R549, no device….wait a minute, I’m currently paying R569 for 50gb, 10 000mtn mins, 200 anytime minutes and 200 sms WITH A SAMSUNG GALAXY S7. I can understand to a point that you cannot match that deal but to offer a ridiculous deal as you have is just plain ****************. Now I have to choose an upgrade between a data deal (no minutes) or a phone contract where we are being offered a S8 with 200mins and 2gb for R700. If I take the data contract, then I have to buy airtime and here is the clincher, I will have to pay R2.85 a minute….YES R2.85 A MINUTE. MTN has gone through great pains to ensure that we the customer suffer…..oh wait…I lie…it seems that people who took a sim only deal in 2016 were offered 650 minutes and 80gb data for R199 and please don’t tell me that was a mistake by MTN as this information was given to me by the Retention Department, the consultant clearly stating I cannot get this upgrade as I took a device. What hogwash is that? Not only do you treat us badly, you even discriminate between your customers. We aren’t even given the chance to take the data deal on another number (of course if we cancel and take your more expensive option) and use it on a mini wifi router, our cell numbers are stuck to the deal so MTN’s real deal is damned if we do, damned if we don’t!. I am absolutely shocked at MTN. You keep on advertising you are giving us the choice to make our own deals….THATS A LIE! As mentioned above, you have predetermined the deals and leaving us with no choice….but hey, there is a choice, TO CANCEL! To hell with your MTN!
