MTN does not want to refund

In April 2016, I migrated to the MTN Sky package without taking a new handset. Although I was never paying a Promo Service Fee before the migration, I was suddenly charged a R479 Promo Service Fee even though I never took a new handset.

Since April, I have been struggling to get MTN to stop charging me this Promo Service Fee and give me a refund. However despite my numerous efforts, there is no progress, yet I am being kicked from Pillar to post and have to start explaining my situation from square one every time i call.

I have 5 contracts with MTN, and I will not upgrade any one of them as there service and customer care is pathetic. MTN, call me back and resolve this issue ASAP.

Good day Farhad,

Thank you for your post on Hello Peter. Please accept our apology for the inconvenience caused.

As per the previous update sent you there was supposed to be a promo fee charged on the old MyChoice package (Before the migration to the MTN Sky) and this promo fee only kicked in when the migration was initiated...

Subject: feedback on the promo fee

Good day

Please receive the feedback concerning the promo fee as discussed earlier on.

When client upgraded Eppix( system used at mtn) did not generated Promo fee and client should have been billed for it as the MTNCHOICE package was a promo deal.
Client was paying a promo fee before on the MTNCHOICE so client should still be paying a promo fee seeing client still within contract when migration was done to SKY as this cannot be avoided, it will be until the sky contract ends."

Kindly note that this was a system issue whereby the promo fee was not charged on the MyChoice package.

We trust that you find the above in order.

Kind regards,

Caylin Julius
