MTN does not want their money

I went to the MTN shop in Melrose Arch to make my last payment for the account. The girl at the counter swiped my card and then started asking how she would be able to allocate the payment to my old number as the contract is cancelled so there is no way that she would be able to do this. She requested that I call my bank to reverse the charge (after spending R100 on airtime) I was advised to inform her that she needed to contact them to get an authorization number. Why did this girl not ask the question first about how she would be able to allocate payment? Why take my money first then advise me to reverse charges. I am wanting to pay the last amount for my contract so that nothing is due however this has been 1 long nightmare. Surely you would think that a big coporation like MTN would have ways to deal with customers who want to settle their account by walking into a shop, do they not want their money that they are due. This issue is still not resolved. I have been going to the shop with no luck. My payment is sitting in a store that cannot do anything with it and low and behold I will be blacklisted for not making payment when I actually have. Need this sorted ASAP as I have done what I needed to be in order to be in good standing.
