MTN does not respond to ***** complaint laid online against MTN itself. Ha Ha LOL and thats service for you!!!

Herewith my letter to MTN which is self expalantory.

"TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

Account number A **********

Please would you provide me with a detailed statement of my account as from the date of commencement up until the last billing period.

I have visited MTN Stoneridge on at least 8 occasions and they are unable to assist me.

They have sent me an email advising me to contact MTN direct as appears as though our billing system is in disarray.

To date I have received the most dismal service from MTN imaginable.

I have been shunted from pillar to post and your own branch in Stoneridge is unable to obtain any answers from you, so I suppose I have even less chance but I am addressing this mail as a last resort failing which I will be posting my frustrations on the social media including Hello Peter and the likes!

Your have been billing me incorrectly and totally out of line with my contract and I have been forced to pay exorbitant amounts in order to avoid my line being suspended.

I signed up for a R299.00 per month contract which was capped and I have received bills amounting to R3500 and then R1500.

The confusing part is that my contract was capped at 10gb data and should therefore never exceed R299 per month!

Furthermore my statement also indicates a credit limit of R1000 and this has also been exceded???

I explained to your managerat MTN Stoneridge that I never uncapped any account from my side and he advised me that they will investigate how this has happened as he agrees that my account was capped on the original contract at 10GB data.

I was advised by your managment that I should pay the arrears and the amount billed as this is the only way they can lift the suspension on the line. They promissed me that they would arrange for a refund once "this mess is sorted out" as MTN are experiencing "billing problems".

I was left no option but to pay the amount due or be left with no securtiy.

I am an IT specialist and my router is capped at 10GB data at my office so it is impossible for data to be used passed that limit. In other words I have capped the data at 10GB from my side yet you contine to bill me in excess of that.

I have also sent sms codes to MTN to make sure my data is capped yet the excess billing continued after that.

In the mean time my account is suspended and I no longer have remote access to my security cameras.

It is not in my power to establish how this has happened and you have promissed to investigate the matter which has not happened yet you have absolutely no reservations is suspending services!!!

To date I have not received any fedback whatsoever and many months have now passed since July 2016 when the contract was taken out.

IN SHEER FRUSTRATION I LAID A COMPLAINT OF ***** ONLINE WITH MTN ***** DEPARTMENT AS MY ACCOUNT IS BEING DEBITED *****ELENTLY AND *******LY.

MTN HAS NOT REP**** TO THE ***** COMPLAINT EITHER AND I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY RESPONSE FROM MTN WHATSOEVER IN THIS REGARD! PATHETIC TO SAY THE LEAST!

You need to resolve this issue "post haste" as I my patience is now exhausted!

My family has been placed at risk as we cannot access our security cameras and MTN have made absoluetly no effort to resolve this issue other that suspending services and pasing the buck from your banch at stoneridge to MTN head office.

Your service really sucks and your customers are paying the price!

Sincerely

Good day James,

Thank you for post.

Please accept our apologies for the break down in service at one of our touch points and for any inconvenience caused. We appreciate the time and the effort you took to air your dissatisfaction because it is through such feedback that we can re-evaluate our processes in order to improve on our Service levels.

Kindly note that we have viewed your account (A*** ) and the only invoice that was R1500.00 + was the invoice dated 2016-08-13 and the reason for this was because there was a pro-rata charged on the account as well as data charges to the value of R731.91 (excl. VAT). Data charges were incurred because there was no usage limit set on the account.

Also please note that a credit limit is different from a usage limit and in order to avoid incurring charges you need to set a Subscriber usage limit on your line which can be done by dialing *141*5# then selecting option "1 .Manage usage" > then select option "1. Manage usage limits".

Our records do not indicate any other invoice on this account that was for R3500.00 as the 2 most recent invoices (November and December) were both for R299.00. Please provide more clarity on this or advise if the invoice is perhaps for another account and not the one in question above (A***).

Kind Regards,

Tshepo M
