MTN does not notify their customers!!!!

I had a contract for my phone at R989 approx. But after the contact ended no one called or notified me for a cancelation or upgrade they just rolled it over without any notification, now i have R2000 outstanding on my name. When I spoke to two different consultants they both said I need to pay regardless even after I explained I am willing to upgrade.
