MTN does not know what customer service means

I have been an MTN user for 30 years but have never ever experienced the service levels from either the Consumer or Business call centers that seem to be prevalent at this time. I signed up for a month-to-month contract at the start of this year via the MTN but was unable to retain my number on that (be it unwillingness or not possible is yet to be determined). Debit orders for this was eventually stopped after threats of ***** charges, but no refund has been paid back yet.

Further to this, I recently stopped my last business number contract with MTN for which the notice period would run out middle of last month. To my surprise, I have ad yet another debit order that went off today for this contract. This is now an area where I am once again considering those ***** charges of course.

My experience is basically as follows: There is no way to get hold of anybody in customer care, be it on Consumer or Business. Any emails sent may possibly be answered (they probably still have some of "the good guys" working there), most are read and ignored, and some are straight-out deleted without being read. I have yet to get through to a consultant via 135, with very limited options and no option to opt out to speak to an operator.

Is this the new norm for MTN customer service? If so, expect me to never enter into a contract longer than 30 days with your company.
