I've been with MTN for years, then i had to switch to Vodacom because MTN's network was bad arround Pimville. I since then moved to Oakdene where i decided to keep my simcard for DATA only because at least it worked well here. It's an old 3G simcard that is worn and gave up yesterday, so i had to upgrade to an LTE one, the nightmare begins now when i have to do a sim swap, i have to answer 3 security questions, now i have to remember who I've called two years ago, when i last bought airtime years ago, mind you i only use this MTN simcard for DATA which i have 7 gigs on that i cant use because this simcard is worn. I've spent around R800 twice for ten gigs that i can remember, but the call centre insists that they don't care about data purchases, only airtime. Now i have to go to a police station, fill out an affidavit give them a certified copy of my ID, i think it's just easier to throw away anything MTN. MTN needs to think outside the box and cater for people who just use their simcards for data.
Best regards,
