MTN disrespects long-term customers
For the last two weeks a person has been phoning me “on behalf of MTN” trying to coerce me to “upgrade” to a different contract, only after several calls did it transpire that the reason MTN wants me to “upgrade” is they are discontinuing the package I’m on. The problem is that it seems any new package that is vaguely similar costs at a minimum 50% more than my current contract. I’ve asked that the person phoning me email me information on the offers available and make a competitive offer, as it is MTN that wants me to change packages, not me. I get daily calls asking “have you received the mail” which it seems has clearly never been sent. Today I was asked to email a “Trisha” at some company called CCI to verify my email so that they can send me the package info. In response I was asked to send personal information, including my ID Number. Not happening! MTN, I have been a customer continuously for over 20 years. If you really want me to move to another package so that you can discontinue the product I’m currently on, then you will have the courtesy to get an actual employee of MTN to phone and make an appointment to meet me to discuss your offer of a competitive package with at a minimum the same benefits that does not cost 50% more.
It appears from your reply that you haven't read and understood my complaint at all.
I don't need to upgrade, I'm very happy to continue my contract on a month-to-month basis as-is.
You (MTN) are asking me to change contracts, thus you need to make an effort to present me with suitable options with comparable price and features to my current contract.
I'm not running around doing MTN's work for them.
