MTN - Disgusting
Good day to you.
MTN, you’re genius. This is how you got me.
In March this year my bag was ******, causing me the loss of many possessions, including my dear cellphone. Knowing how much we depend on the said device (and as probably many of us would), I used what little credit I had on a store card and added the required balance of R2400 in cash. As you can imagine, this wasn't just laying around. I went in to store and purchased a brand new NOKIA 6.1 on MTN - and life resumed back to 'normal'. Just under 3 months later, the phone switched off. It couldn't be charged nor rebooted, and had a message on the screen that read "default mode". I returned the device to the store I bought it from, and it was booked in for , what they call, a warranty assessment. A few weeks later (early June), after numerous follow-up calls at my end, I was advised that the warranty claim has been rejected due to "excessive wear and tear". The device was 3 months old... 3 months. How much wear and tear could it have had within this time. It's never been dropped (I mean, I just kinda spent a mini fortune of my budget on it, so I was gonna treasure this little thing with my life!), the screen wasn't cracked, there weren't any visible scratch marks on it - but naaah, it cannot be replaced. Gracefully I accepted their poor attempt to justify the outcome, and requested it please then just be fixed. It's August. No outcome or feedback as yet, and some dude named Kabelo who is supposed to be in a management position (and who's been promising me that it's one of the device repairs taking top priority) has gone AWOL. Isn't life wonderful? MTN's level of service, efficiency & professionalism is appalling, to say the least. Give my repaired device back already. Then, may your network/ shutdown before year-end.
Utterly gutted.
