MTN de*****s it's loyal clients

I have a feeling that MTN might not respond however I'm going to let people know what they are doing to get sales *****ulently.

Apparently MTN have some companies (Outsourced, that's what they call it) doing contract renewals for them. So to cut the story short.

On the 23rd of October 2024 at around 10am, I received a call from one of MTNs "outsourced company for contact renewals". I forgot the name. The lady whom I didn't get the name as well informed about the two contracts I have with MTN which are now on month to month contract basis. She wanted me to get them renewed so that I can save some money. She said since the two contracts are on month to month I'm paying more, so she can help me save some money if I renew the two contracts. I told her, she should not renew, I'll go to the nearest branch when I get time so I can get more information. Guess what, after about 30 minutes after the call I got two emails informing me about the successful contract renewals.

I was shocked cause I didn't agree to any contract renewals. So I called their call center to query and yes the contracts were renewed, however without any agreement. So I ask them to cancel as I didn't agree to any contract renewal.

I was informed that that's not possible, so I asked the lady to get the recording so that it can prove that I didn't agree. I was told that's not possible and I have to call the ***** center. I did that but still was not helped cause they demand that I should get an affidavit from SAPS so that they can investigate.

I'm working odd hours and don't have the luxury to go to the Police Station, besides they have a recording and they can just listen and they'll be able to hear the conversation. But no they need an affidavit. On the 25th MTN debited an extra R499 on my account for the renewal of the 2 contracts.

I've been charged for something I didn't agree to, I've called several times to rectify the matter, even asked to speak to the team leader/manager but all the time he/she is not available. It's either they are busy with another client or on leave, so I don't get any help.

All I want is for the two contracts to be reversed back to what they were before the 23rd of October 2024 and my R499 reversed back to my bank account. Mind you, I've been their client since August 2005 and I always renewed my contacts at their branch but now when I tell them I never renew my contracts over the phone, they tell me I should get an affidavit.

Oh when I said I want to complain I was told MTN doesn't have a complaints department. REALLY?
