MTN de*****ing and *****ing from contract clients

According to 2 calls to 808 today, MTN has given/sold our numbers to multiple companies, locally & internationally.

This resulted in me receiving adverts from some UK company, which MTN can't identify. The advert is NOT and sms that I can reply to. It's just a black screen with blue writing, advertising whatever offer they have. Our only options are to either Accept or Cancel. When I click on cancel, somehow, somehwere from within the MTN network, an sms gets created (not by the handset or myself) and this sms is sent, via my account, to an unknown company in the UK and MTN charges you (me) for an sms you never created, sent or wanted to send.

It's always the same number of sms's sent, and always the same number these sms's are sent to every month, which is very suspect on its own, since no one sends the exact same number of sms's to the exact same number every month.

This issue started in February 2016.

MTN can only tell me that I send sms's to the UK (which I DID NOT DO, since I don't know a signle soul in the UK and don't even know anyone from the UK, so have no reason to send messages to the UK). I requested MTN to retrieve the sms's (at least the last 3 aparently send by me) and send it to me so I can prove that these sms's, they (MTN) falsely accuse me of sending, are not created and sent by me. But this too they refuse to provide.

MTN is making millions of Rands off this scheme because I was told that ALL MTN customers receive these adverts, so I can only assume ALL MTN customers pay around R11 excl. VAT, every month for absolutely nothing. Free money for MTN, if you consider MTN taking money from you for nothing and no valid reason.

Say MTN has a market share of 1 million customers (and we all know they have way more customers than just 1 million customers), then this practice make a clean profit of R11 million a month off of their customers. Shocking, isn't it?

I've been in correspondance with MTN all day, but it seems like they only want to apologise for *****ing my money. I'm sorry, but apology not accepted as I'm sure no one will accept an apology for being ******. When someone *****s from you, you want what they've ****** back. You don't want an apology and still suffer a loss on a monthly basis.

MTN, I've been on contract with you, wiwith the exact same number/contract for 17 years (since July 1999) and it will be a very sad day when I have to leave MTN because MTN robs their clients. Do the right and responsible thing and fix this.

I want that number to be somehow blocked, so it's impossible for any MTN customer to have their hard earned money ****** without their knowledge and concent.

I want to be refunded\credited for all charges to my account since February 2016, relating to this UK number.

Should you (MTN) refuse to refund or credit me and stop this from ever happening again, then MTN should provide me with proof that these sms's actauly exist, since I have no proof of this from my side because I never created or send these alledged sms's.

Should you also not be able to provide proof of the existance of these sms's, then any reasonable person would conclude that these sms's are fictitious and that ALL MTN customers ****** like this should be refunded/credited.

Come on MTN. Stop robbing your customers, specially your loyal customers. Do the right thing. Refund/credit or provide proof of the existace of these alledged sms's. That's all I'm asking.

Thank you for your post.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced with our service.
Kindly be advised that the billing department has closed the investigation no calls has been made out of SA but the system reflected that the sim card has been used to sent SMS to the UK and the itemized billing will provide this proof. Please check the itemized billing for this charges.
This usage will reflect on the itemized billing report (Call Type: INT R1.40.) As per the billing department the charges are valid and not refund can be done to the account for the usage.
Kind Regards,
Alice van der Merwe

As expected. MTN blaming me for something I have NOT done. If these sms' exist, why does MTN refuse to provide me with it?
I say again. I DON'T KNOW ANYONE IN THE UK. NO REASON/NEED TO SEND SMS' TO THE UK.
I WANT TO KNOW HOW MTN WILL BLOCK THIS NUMBER WHERE SMS' ARE SENT TO. SINCE I AM NOT CREATING & SENDING SMS' TO THE UK, I CANNOT STOP THIS FROM HAPPENING. HOW DO I STOP THESE SMS'? WHAT'S MTN'S SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM?
