MTN Cyprus ripping you off

This complaint relates to MTN Cyprus, which is owned by MTN South Africa. Why I am writing this is to warn people travelling to Cyprus about the ********* practice there. And maybe somebody at MTN South Africa cares more about customer service than their Cypriot counterparts.

As a loyal MTN customer for 19 years, I went to Cyprus and I decided to buy MYN over its competitor in order to use a proudly South African company.

I had run out of my data bundle and had EUR17 of airtime on my phone. Instead of blocking access to the internet, MTN saw fit to take my airtime for WhatsApp, it took EUR17 in less than 10 seconds. Just to note this was not international roaming, I bought a sim card to save on roaming costs. I complained to MTN and they are giving me lame excused about how it costs EUR1.02 per MB.

This was not the first time this happened, previously as soon as my data bundle runs out, I loose my airtime even if I don't access the Internet/whatsapp.

How do you allow this to happen. Its just an ********* way to ***** your money.
