MTN CUSTOMER SERVICE - NON-EXISTENT

Customer Service is a term which MTN has yet to begin to comprehend.

They are incapable of assisting the customer to resolve queries and the disturbing reality is that MTN are unable to provide reasonable evidence to validate the data usage being billed on the account despite being given evidence of data usage measured by the device.

It then begs the question:

ARE MTN USING SYSTEMS DESIGNED IN THE EARLY 1900’S?

How is it acceptable to the customer to pay for data usage billed in excess of what the device measures, other customers would have complained by now if the fault existed with the device; however with the millions of users across the world using SAMSUMG devices, one has yet to read a report from the masses on the inefficiencies of a SAMSUMG product.

In this day and age of everything being electronic, MTN are miles away from being relevant as they are unable to respond to queries raised via the Contact Centre, they are incapable of providing written feedback that actually focusses on the issue and neither are they capable of responding to queries logged in store.

MTN are very quick to send out an SMS advising of the outstanding balance and requesting payment.

DO THEY ACTUALLY THINK I ENJOY HAVING AN OUTSTANDING BALANCE ON MY ACCOUNT?

I have been a customer with MTN for 18 years and there is no record of unpaid bills over this period of time; WHY THEN WOULD I START NOW??

Last year I was billed excessively over a two month period for data usage however since the amount was below R2000 and having received no response from queries emailed or a comment posted on HELLO PETER; I decided to accept the cost and continue with the service provider.

However in September 2016 after receiving a R9 000 account for 10GB of data used and having no response to any of the enquiries raised, I believe it is unacceptable for a service provider to be so unaffected and unresponsive.

The MTN Contact Centre staff as well as the staff employed in store are inadequately trained and incapable of providing information that is correct and factual.

The conflicting information received together with the lack of accurate data usage information has resulted in the October billing for a contract I cancelled also being excessive.

In a 5 year period, I have not exceeded the 2GB data allocation; however in the month I cancel the contract and in a 17 day period the once R135 account is now +/- R2000.

Having gone in store on 28 October 2016 and not had any response thus far leaves little choice but to approach social media and the print media to address the inaccurate billing from MTN.

I am certainly not the only customer impacted at this point and can safely say I will not be the last customer to complain about the poor service received by MTN.
