MTN Customer Service clueless and highly unhelpful
The most appalling service and very poorly trained employees. If there was proper competition in this country, I think they would be a failed business. I went to the store in Nicolway to activate an esim so I could use my smar****ch without having my phone present. The consultant told me my phone does not have an embedded esim. I argued but she was adamant so I went to the store in Summit Road. The consultant there was very helpful, and after about 30 minutes, I left the store with my watch working perfectly. However, a little later, I noticed that my phone had stopped working: I keep getting a message that the device is not registered on the network. So I can make and receive calls on my watch, but not my phone!! I have wasted a number of hours on calls to the customer service line, have engaged with the online help, but after 10 days of being unable to use my phone, I have got nowhere. I have however received a number of SMS' telling me my problem has been resolved, when in fact it hasn't. It seems as if I will have to go back to the store.... this has unfortunately been my experience with MTN over many years: their employees are not trained and often absolutely clueless.
