MTN "Customer Service"

I had a cell phone contract with Altech Autopage for many years and very few problems that were not solved pretty quickly.

In March/April 2016, Altech Autopage was sold? To different people, and as my two numbers on the same contract details were old MTN numbers that I have had for years, my account was sent to MTN.

From that point in time, I have had no cell phone use. The phone has been cut off for most of the time, with MTN never able to pick up payments.

I paid Altech Autopage for March and April 2016. Thereafter, I have made payments to the MTN ABSA bank account as follows:

15 June 2016 R 850.00

30 July 2016 R 850.00

12 August 2016 R 850.00

15 August 2016 R 850.00 – two payments in the month of August because MTN could not find payments and my phone never worked – always cut off by MTN

15 September 2016 R 850.00

11 October 2016 R 850.00 Every time I phoned your “Customer Services” There would be another person. One would say oh I can see that payment or that payment, but then another would say there were no payments and I must pay. MTN could never pick up any payments, - with the cell phone number utilised as reference. Desperate, as I need a phone to work and my daughter needs her phone to study and both of us need it for security, I would land up paying again.

01 November 2016 R 850.00

30 November 2016 R 835.00

R 835.00

R 835.00

In summary, after paying Altech for March and April 2016, I ONLY OWED MTN for the last 6 months of my contract.

I instructed MTN to terminate my contracts on 31 October 2016, I instructed MTN that I want my numbers. MTN cut off my phone continuously, MTN could never find payments every time you phone “Customer Services” there is someone else with another story and you are endlessly put through to someone else to just be cut off. I phoned and phoned and phoned to sort this out, then in November ONCE MY CONTRACT WAS LEGALLY FINISHED, MTN stole another 2 additional payments out of my account. I have been to MTN Kloof, now closed down and MTN Knowles, Pinetown. Neither has made any attempt to refund the money.

I include below a list of names of MTN staff that I have tried endlessly to deal with and sort this out over the last 8 months:

Linda (Knowles, Pinetown MTN), Michael, Nonhlanhla Nkabinde (Customer Services), Matsepho, Sipho, Nothandoza, Phiwe, Charity, Delan, Earnest, Kim Basson, Silindile, Andiswa, Weyola, Thokoza, Khashazulz, Angel, Sebhogo, Psangelisiwe, Nwandlela. I have been given countless reference numbers, e-mail addresses to send information to, to never receive any response whatsoever.

I want my numbers My contracts finished in October last year – ie 31 October 2016. I owe MTN nothing, MTN must refund the ****** money R 850.00 + R 835.00 + R 835.00 + R 835.00 = R 3 355.00.

I instructed you to terminate my contracts at the end of October 2016.

With the hundreds of hours and phone calls made to your Customer Service – Ms Nonhlanhla Nkabinde, I now find out, (who by the way promised she was sorting everything out as of November last year), of her own accord made a new contract up for my daughter’s cell phone until April 2019. This contract is ******* I NEVER agreed to it, I have never had sight of the document and I never signed it – it is ******* to create a contract like this.

I instructed my contract to be finished at the end of October 2016, I instructed that I will take MY TWO NUMBERS THAT I HAVE HAD FOR YEARS.

MTN has done nothing to rectify this. Now in June 2017, my daughter has no phone, cannot get a new phone because MTN decided to create a new two year contract and my own phone has been suspended for months. MTN is seriously negatively impacting my ability to work and compromising my safety. I want my numbers because one is for work and one is for study.

In addition to this dreadful ordeal, I have had numerous phonecalls form various courier companies informing me that my new handset will be delivered tomorrow. Also numerous persistent calls from MTN for a new contract. How could I receive a new handset if I never asked for it?

In desperation I have put this despicable service and incompetence on this site, because no matter who I speak to or what I do, MTN does NOTHING.

How disappointing, after 8 months, MTN is just wasting my time again. Demanding Affidavits, certified copies of my ID. I have NO CONTRACT with MTN. It ended on 31 October 2016. If MTN created a contract "on their own" that I have never seen, I do not know what it is for, then MTN must terminate their own contract that they invented for themeselves. I know nothing of this contract. It is *******. Why must I waste more of my precious time trying to fix MTN's error? 8 months of nonsense is enough.

My account and contract with MTN ended on 31 October 2016. I instructed MTN to termninate everything in July 2016 and again in August 2016.

GIVE ME BACK THE MONEY THAT YOU HAVE TAKEN.

GIVE ME MY CELL NUMBERS. YOU ARE SERIOUSLY NEGATIVELY IMPACTING MY WORK AND MY DAUGHTER"S STUDIES.
