MTN Customer Service

I have two accounts with MTN. The one is for my handset and the other for my 3G data USB device.

I am with MTN for about 15 years and have excellent service and without any problems

On this year, October 2016 my 3G device internet account was debited with R2438.90. The total debited amount was R3483.09 included my handset payment. I have not make provision for that amount to be debited from my banking account.

I have queried the high bill and MTN was very generous to send me an itemised spreadsheet with the usages during July/August 2016 when the high usage occurred.

After I have investigated the spreadsheet, there were only data usage debits itemised and no evidence of credits where I have purchased additional data. I have purchased additional 2 x 2 Gigabytes packages at a MTN store in order to stay in my data usage limit. That was credited to my account and accumulated to my total data balance, but no evidence of credits shown on the Itemised document that was sent to me.

I have rep**** to the email that MTN has sent to me to inform them about the data purchases that are not reflected on the spreadsheet, but they have not responded to me. MTN has made no effort to investigate any further after numerous phone calls to their helpdesk (808). I have also written a complaint on the MTN website regarding my problem, but no feedback was received.

MTN has handed over the case to the MTN legal department. I have phoned the legal department ( ********** 737) to make payment arrangements, but they were not able to detect my ID number. They have promised to call me back. I have not received any feedback from the MTN legal department yet. My services on both accounts are now terminated.

It will be highly appreciated if MTN can give me any further explanation and provide evidence of my two data purchases. The account never went over the monthly data limit to my knowledge and the usage has been checked and refreshed on a regular base. I have no obligations to pay the outstanding amount on terms if there is proof of negligence on my side.
