MTN Customer Care - No Care!

I took delivery of my new Samsung S7 as an upgrade to my contract on Thursday the 22nd of September through MTN Direct. On Saturday the 1st of October I returned the device to MTN Centurion as it was overheating and the battery wasn’t lasting. I was informed by MTN Centurion that I would be unable to get a new device immediately as I had done the original upgrade through MTN Direct. MTN Centurion would have to return the device to MTN Direct and I would receive my new device directly from them (MTN Direct). To make a long story even longer; the faulty device was returned to Centurion as I had not included the “****le”. On the 11th of October I returned the ****le via MTN Centurion. This and my faulty Samsung would now be returned to MTN Direct.

It is now 21 days and counting since I first returned my Samsung S7. I am sorry that I ever used MTN Direct to do my upgrade, I thought it would make my life easier as I would not have to go into the store and queue and it could be delivered directly to me. I will also advise anyone upgrading through MTN not to go via MTN direct but to go directly to the nearest store especially if they have to return their device as has been the case with me so far.

I have now been informed by MTN Centurion that the MTN repair centre can only supply me with a collection number on Monday as they are doing a stock take - Only once I get the collection number, can I contact MTN direct to send me a new phone.

I have sent two e-mails to MTN customer Care and have had no response from them even though I can see that my e-mails have been read.

I have been an MTN customer for 20 years, but obviously this means nothing to them. If I had not locked myself into another 24 month contract I would definately consider switching to another service provider.
