MTN CUSTOMER CARE A CUSTOMER FRUSTRATION
During September 2015 I cancelled a contract with MTN within the time limits of the Consumer Protection Act because of a device which was not working. MTN first tried to argue that their calculation of the time limits differed from mine and wanted to hol me liable. I had to provide them with an extract of the relevant provisions of the Act before they agreed that I was within my rights to cancell the contract. I had to drive to their Keywest branch several times [50 kilometres from my residence]. They then confirmed the cancellation by email but nevertheless debited my account with an amount of R1065.41 which was paid by debit order with my other contracts. Since then several telephone calls and emails brought only promises and since 9 February when my last email was sent [attaching copies of all the previous emails] I had no reply and their customer care department is ignoring my emails.I have alsothreatened them with legal action but this did not help either and it clear that they want to keep my money. This is my last attempt MTN. If they don't react and repay my money now legal action will follow. I also insist that they pay my wasted costs.
