MTN contracts

My hubby spoke to a consultant from MTN last year to settle his contract phone, the lady gave him the settlement amount, he paid and sent the POP.After a few months they called saying his in arrears.He called to his surprise the settlement was deducted into his monthly payments. He called MTN and we sent proof to this day no reply they keep sending statements to him.
