Mtn Contracts

I have a contract that should have expired early February. I sent an email to MTN retentions a month in advance (January) but to my surprise, my March statement shows the number as being on contract. I have emails to prove that I communicated with MTN. I am unhappy at this as am now forced to pay for a service I clearly said (in writing) I don't want anymore. Wht's the use of having an email address as another form of communication ?
