MTN CONTRACT UPGRADED AND CREDIT LIMIT REDUCED

I went in to upgrade my contract on Monday. Upgrade processed and approved. My expiring contract was a MTN500 Package for which I paid R649 per month and never exceeded the limits.
The new contract to cost R829 per month.
I then received an sms to say that my credit limit had been reduced to R657.00.
Firstly I did not know there was a credit limit. Secondly it was R3 159. How is it now reduced and how can it be reduced to less than I have to pay for the contract?
I have spoken to the call centre, a supervisor in credit management, the store ans no one can assist.
All I am told is that ITC Vetting say that is what I can afford.
What bull ****!
I am now being charged R829 per month plus for calls/data etc!!??
Perhaps someone at MTN will read this and try and assist?
