MTN Contract ****

MTN is by far the worst network provider I have ever delt with. In my opinion the company is simply running a ****.

I called them give cancellation notice for my data contract in April and was assured it would be cancelled in May by MTN customer retentions.

My contract fee was R299 pm. At the end of May I was debited R539 and another R565 in June. In July it was R1100

I called their customer retentions number multiple times for weeks each time they ask me to hold and then hang up. I've sent countless emails to their customer retentions and complaints mailbox with no response.

When I go to the MTN store they say they can't help and I have to call 135.

I called their billing department and the agent told me she doesn't know why my contract fee changed and just hung up.

Basically to cancel a contract you can only notify them through a phone conversation. There's no proof that you gave them notice of cancellation. So they ignore your calls & emails and keep billing you. This is the most despicable way to forcefully retain customers and I will be escalating this with ICASA.
