MTN Contract is a **** and abuse consumer rights

I upgraded my contract in December last year and I specifically ask for a phone with dual Sim card. After comparing phones P40 Lite was the best option because it has dual Sim cards. The only thing the lady who was handling my contract told me is that the phone does not come with Google Play for apps and some apps are not available pn the phone. I did not have a issue with that coz we checked most of the apps I use and there were there.

After picking up the phone I realized that slot 1 for dual Sim was not recognizing my sim card. Only Sim slot 2 was recognizing my sim. I tried all other Sim cards but it did not work. Because i was travelling I couldn't go back to MTN shop and deal with thee issue.

When my contract Sim card was activated, I was asked if I want to use the same number as my previous contract. Because I knew the phone is dual Sim card phone I opted to use that number and not tk use my other prepaid number which is the one I used as a main number. All that time the lady at MTN shop does not tell me that this phone will be block for a second Sim slot or even that MTN is not allowed to sell dual Sim phones.

Only yesterday when I went to the shop I am told the truth. And on top of that I can port my prepaid number to a contract.

This is so frastrating coz now it means i must have two phone which I was trying to avoid by taking a phone with dual Sim cards.

I don't know why MTN is so dishonesty about this coz there are many customers they have ****ed the same way. This is a **** and they knowingly sell the phone as a dual Sim phone and they don't tell people they will block the other slot. You only discover this after you have signed the contract. It's a Trap.

MTN are ******, just don't take any contract with them. I have been with MTN since I started using a phone but I regret and I want to cancel this contract and never use MTN network.

I will be taking this to the consumer commission or any other relevant council. This is a daytime *******.
