Mtn contract horror

I cancelled my contract via email last year. It was a month before my contract ended. Retention responded with a form I had to fill in. I then send all necessary documentation

I waited and waited to get a response to say that my contract was canceled. I did follow up emails and phone calls but no response. So according to me I thought my contract was not renewed. Even though I haven't received a response I still did follow up emails and calls.

I then received a call few months later from debt review to say that I owe mtn over R5000 and I need to set up a payment plan. I was obviously confused coz I thought they canceled my contract.

I then again tried to contact mtn to find out why they never canceled my contract but they just simply couldn't help me and they kept on forwarding my calls to different departments.

My last call to them was few days ago where I tried again to see if they can clear this for me since I canceled my contract. Yet again no luck. They just said my contract was never canceled on their side and I need to pay the outstanding amount. I even gave my details so that a manager can phone me but still waiting for that call.

The manager that was supposed to phone me back is Wandile Thombela. My ref nr is ***.

Hope that this will get sorted coz I'm so tired of phoning mtn and to clear my name from debt review.
