MTN contract *****
I am shocked that such a large telecom company can commit such acts of *****. Not once but twice against me in succession. Here's my story.
I placed a call me back feature on their website for one of their consultants to call me back about setting up a data contract for the 2nd SIM card in my cellphone.
Long story short they call me back and sell me on a better deal for R199 that they assured me when I asked them clearly 3 times that is was meant for a cellphone and NOT for an LTE or fixed device. Long story short the SIM arrives and is for LTE. A clear act of ***** on their part. I go in to the MTN store in Kuils River, cape town and the gentlemen working there assures me it will be resolved as it was a mistake. He gave me a number to call to cancel it and he set up the correct contract for me. The ***** here is that I was billed R199 for the ********** contract at the end of the month without a refund.
Now the second *****. I call the number and the lady says she understands the mistake and will resolve it. She makes no mention of a fee or whether I will accept that to cancel this ********** contract. And that ends the call. Come yesterday I get sent an account linked to my legitimate contract with a R895 cancellation added to it for this ********** account to be cancelled. I neither agreed to this or accepted it but it has been added to my debit order of my legitimate contract and will come off my account shortly.
I am shocked at every stage of this disasterous process I was de*****ed by all MTN linked departments. They have left a bad taste in my mouth. Please if anyone can advise me if I can sue them or what I can do to correct their predatory business practices so others don't experience a R1100 of bills for absolutely nothing of value given.
