MTN contract falsely upgraded

During November 2015, I discovered that my phone, my husbands and our wifi router had been upgraded without our permission. I went into MTN Brooklyn and their attitude towards the situation was shocking- not what a paying client should receive. We were told to hand in an affidavit, which we did in early December 2015. We were told we would be contacted regarding the issue, but have still heard nothing! We wish to terminate our contracts, but apparently this cannot be done until the whole issue is resolved. Our bill has also doubled this past month- which we did not sign up for! I have tried phoning the branch numerous times and no one answers the phone. I have been an MTN client for some time and am extremely disappointed in their service and lack of care towards clientele.

Hello Roberta5 ,

Thank you for your post.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced with our service.

We do not pick up any notes on the account that the affidavit and ID has been received for the upgrade done with out the permission from the account holder. Please can you send to me the affidavit via fax *** to assist you further in the matter, please mark for my attention.

Please note if you wish to cancel the contracts before the expire date early termination fee will apply.

The previous package:
*** MTN 200 Top up for R459.00
*** Broadband 1GB Top for R153.44
*** MTN 200 Top Up for R449.00

Upgrade has been done on all the 3 lines on the 18-11-2015 and this is why the subscription fee is higher than the previous packages. The upgrades has been done with MTN store Bonaero Park Mall the subscribtion fee is higher than previous upgrades.

Kind Regards,

Alice van der Merwe
