MTN contract

My mother has a contract with MTN which ended in October, and she decided not to upgrade it. She informed them in time, and has been to mtn atleast 5 times already to cancel the contract but they just don't seem to want to cancel it. Why is so easy to have a contract with them and yet so difficult to close it. This is honestly frustrating 😒 and their service sucks as always.
