MTN Contract :Apple Iphone 32GB-from MTN Direct Gateway
I take a contract in October 2019 for Apple IPhone 7 32GB for 24 months contract with MTN Direct Gateway. This year in January 2020 the phone was giving me a problem and I take it back to MTN Direct Gateway and an agent assisted by updating the phone and it was fine. This phone was work fine until a few month later. The phone was not hold charge and I take it back to MTN Direct Gateway on the 16 May 2020 and the agent booked it with the repairs centre which was HVRC Repairs. It’s now 5 month later the phone is missing and the area manager for MTN Durban (Mukesh Dookie) confirmed that the store will replace the units with refurbished unit. This phone is on a 24 month contract with MTN and has a 1 year warranty as per Apple agreement card attached in new unit box. I being running around for 5 month now with no joy from the store level and area manager regarding this units which is still has warranty of 1 years and the area manager wants me to take refurbished units. When I speak to CPA lawyers regarding this matter, they have confirmed that the phone is still under warranty and the store need to replace me with new units and not refurbished units. This weekend, Melanie from (MTN Direct Gateway) call me regarding this matter. She confirmed that units has arrived in the store and ready for collection. On my arrival to the store, the agent give me refurbished units which I do not accept. I am now turn to legal action with MTN Direct Gateway. My Question to MTN is: Why does the supplier give in each new units and warranty card? ( 1 year warranty ) Why does the agent in store level inform the customer about the warranty card and how long period? Feel free to contact me on ***
