MTN Contract

Re: MTN Contract. I have had a MTN account for years with no problem until i wanted to upgrade my wifi contract at the end of 2024. The black Friday deal that was offered in store, at Shelly Beach Southcoast mall, could not be secured as there was no router available, so that had to be cancelled. Tried the same online with the same outcome, had to be cancelled. Then in late December 2024 I went to Shelly mall MTN store and was given a upgrade with a 5G fixed router to the value of about R400. I asked in shop about the 5G signal in our area and was reassured that it will be ok. I was told the unit will be activated within 24 Hrs and then to contact the shop if unit did not work. The unit had no signal and we contacted the MTN shop in Shelly Centre with videocall showing the manager that it does not work. I was told to return the unit to the shop which I did. I was told that as it was not my fault the contract will be cancelled without cancellation fees. They could not supply me with a contract that Suited me. I then went to Vodacom and got a Wifi Contract that suited me round about Christmas time and it was up and running within a few days. The problem is that the MTN store said the contract was cancelled but MTN Head office did not cancel it. so I was billed for it from December 2024 until 28 Feb 2025 when I received Email of the cancellation of my wifi contract. I am billed for a unit which was returned and in the store within 2 days after receiving the unit. My MTN Cellphone contract is to the value of R788 BUT MTN deducted from my bank account R955 on 6 Jan 2025. Then on 31 Jan 2025 MTN deducted R1192. On 28 Feb MTN deducted R2200. Then on 1 March 2025 MTN deducted another R1762.64 as well, This R1762.64 I managed to get reversed by the bank. I then got a Email account satement DD17-02-2025 to 16-03-2025 to the value of R4379.33 From December 2024 I was regularly in contact with the Manager at Shelly mall MTN store who tried her best to resolve the problem with MTN head office by sending email with proof of details and copies of my bank statements, proving payments, but the problem is now escalating even further. The communication between MTN head office and the MTN store in my view, is none existent as MTN head office just ignores all proof given. MTN Head Office DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING. I am a very dissatisfied MTN customer Elizabeth Coetzee Shelly Beach KZN
