MTN complicit in crime

My SIM was *******ly swapped and my online bank accounts details reset and accessed using my cellphone number while I was overseas and roaming. I noticed I had no signal after it was roaming overseas. I phoned 083 135 who confirmed my sim was swapped. I eventually got my SIM swapped reversed but not before my online financial accounts got hacked as they had control of my number. MTN couldn't reactive my SIM as I was out of South Africa. They claimed prepaid doesn't support roaming which is false as I was roaming and I sent them a link to MTN website.

I got control of the number when I got back in SA but my overseas bank account was now in control of another person who changed all the details to them. The bank told me they can't identify me because none of the details matched and my username, password, cell no, email, phone PIN was all changed. I can only rectify it f I appear at a branch so I have to book a flight specifically to go overseas to appear in person.

The bank did give me the new owner of the bank's cell phone number which i forwarded to MTN. Yet no response in 2 weeks. They don't care about crime. I urgently need to open a police case against the new owner of my bank account's number and informed MTN of such but they just ignore my requests saying they reversed the SIM swap back so their part is done.

I went to an MTN shop and say how is it possible someone took over control of my cell phone number. They just said someone filled in affidavit claiming the number is theirs. They said this is allowable on prepaid, not on contract and RICA is not checked to determine this is a false claim. They said I need to be on contract to have the security feature. I have zero right to the person's information who *******ly took control of my cell phone number and claimed in an affidavit the number is theirs. They said they are unable to give me the affidavit used in the SIM swap. I cannot tell my bank my phone was ****** as I have it in my possession always and I can use my SIM after it was reversed. I cannot tell me bank MTN allowed my number was hacked as according to MTN it wasn't. It was a mistake that was fixed. My bank requested the affidavit used by MTN to swap my SIM but MTN says it is not possible to provide and ignores all my requests for it. Two weeks have passed already since I have formally requested the affidavit.

I have so many times sent messages on social media and sent emails saying how that the issue has the utmost urgency. They just send me all around. Saying email this department. Get reference. Then email that department get reference. Etc. etc. It's like they treat it as a process to frustrate rather than. Once ********* that taking over a prepaid number has no consequence and has no security checks if you provide an affidavit after they failed all security questions then no MTN prepaid customer will be safe. You sharing your number is the liability. With MTN prepaid just someone else knowing your number makes you insecure.
