MTN cheats me every time I make a recharge!
I am beyond frustrated with my cellphone service provider- MTN. <br> <br> I have been with the service provider for a number of years and have experienced fair rates and competitive pricing. <br> But recently, (in the past 4 - 6 months) I have found that MTN is robbing me of my money by charging me exhorbitantly for calls made and for data used/not used. <br> <br> For example, I loaded a R60 voucher this morning (08/12/2015) and made 1 phonecall to another MTN no. The call lasted no more than 5 minutes. All this before 7am this morning. I made sure to switch off all mobile data after loading airtime and used my 3g router to connect to the Internet instead.<br> <br> I have just checked my balance and it is R30.02 - how is this possible? <br> <br> I am writing because this has been my experience off late with MTN - some days I load airtime only for the voice prompt to come on and say \you have insufficient airtime to make a call."Yet when I check airtime"

Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused. Please be advised that your airtime is deducted by a Content subscription you have for Virus Remover through a company called Basebone. This subscription deducts R7 of airtime which goes off your airtime everyday.
If it happens that there is no airtime then the next day when you buy airtime you get billed for all the days payment was not received which is what happened on the 08 December 2015.
To un-subscribe please dial *141*5# , choose on Content subscription. Your subscriptions will be listed after selecting on Content subscription, please select on what is listed then cancel and block. You can also contact our customer care on 173(free from an MTN line) or 083 173(chargeable from a non-MTN line) for assistance.
